How do I change a photo file image from bitmap to jpg?

I would like to change a photo image file from bitmap to jpg. Can this be
done? How do I do it? Help!!!

Open the file in an image editor such as Microsoft Paint then from the file
menu choose Save As in the dialog box change the file type to jpg.

Export Optimizer from the file menu to save in a different format
