How do I change animation globally in PowerPoint?

I am trying to change a 45-slide presentation to cause all objects to
"appear" rather than "fly in". Is there a global way to do this?

You could try animating the slide master. Click on the relevant placeholder
box so that the box has a dotted edge and then apply the animation to the
box. This will work for a new presentation however whether it will work for
you depends on how the animations were added in the first place.
