How do I change default text box font size in Powerpoint 2002

The default font for new textboxes seems to have changed ( now showing 44
point font in blue, centered, instead of 14 point in black right justified).

How do I reset the default ( it is not on the Slide Master - just when I do
new drawings/graphics)..

Please help - deadline for a client looming!

Get a new text box. Go to the Format menu and choose Font. Set things up
the way you want and click Default for New Objects.

Thank you for this - solved an irritating problem - font size now OK, but
what have I missed, it still stays centered rather than right justified. Is
there a similar check box for this somewhere?

Try this. Select the text box and go to the Format menu and choose Text
Box. Check the box for Default for New Objects (should be right there under
the Colors and lines tab. Now go to the Text Box tab and set the Text
Anchor Point to Top instead of Top Centered. That might take care of it for
you unless you have gotten the centering stuck in some other way.

Just got back to this - unfortunately this did not work.

I did as suggested, even changing with the right justify button one time,
but to no avail. Tried saving the file after I had done this, but new text
boxea still have the same centering. Very odd. I guess I must have centering
stuck soemhow from something else, but I can't think what!

OK. I've got it this time. Sorry for the bad advice. Some of the answer
depends on how you actually got the centering to be the default. This one
will work. Create a text box and set it to whatever justification you
want to be the default (as well as any other settings you want to be part
of the default). Go to the Draw menu (on the Drawing toolbar) and choose
Set AutoShape Defaults.
