How do I change Excel licensed name?

T

thoaingan

Hi,
When I first activated MS Office Suite, I put in my name and company.
Now for all my Office applications (Word, Excel etc.), when I look at
the "About" box, it'll say "This product is licensed to: Ngan". How do
I change that since I want to make it something else.
Thanks for your help!

there are two ways to do it, that i know of.

one is to reinstall the application, so that you can enter the new nam
that you want displayed.

second is to go into registry, look for 'Ngan' and replace all th
instances with the new name that you want displayed. the second metho
is not vouched for, as it is dangerous business. if you mess up, i
will render your windows installation useless. if you have window
2000, then it is a definite no-no

Just for clarification, please.

Which of zebra's suggestions worked?

Or did you try both?

gord,

my first post was a mistake, i had misunderstood the question. then
immediately realised, edited my old post, and posted the new solution
you must have received both the posts as it is delivered to you b
email. but for people who visit the site to check all the posts, woul
have seen my latter response.

i am sure the OP must be talking about the menu method.

the registry method is also possible, i have tried it.

regards,

mac

I do not receive posts by email.

I use Agent newsreader and see all posts here with msnew.microsoft.com as News
Server.

Onliest post of yours I saw on this subject was the first one with a
re-install or hack registry suggestion.

Thanks for info.
