How do I change the font size for the line numbers on pleading pa.

Suzy

I want Times New Roman Font 12 legal pleading paper. I can get the print
inside the side line margins to change and not the line numbers to the left
of the side margin.
Using Office XP

Word uses the default font associated with the Normal style for formatting
line numbers. So, in a paragraph with Normal assigned as the style, choose
Format - Font, choose Times New Roman 12, then click the Default button.

Caveat: anything in your document based on the Normal style's default font
will now be changed to Times New Roman 12.

Actually... upon reflections, you don't need to set the default for the
Normal style in Normal.dot to the desired font & point size... you just need
to set the character font for the Normal style in the current document.

So, instead of what I suggested in the other message, choose Format - Styles
and Formatting, find Normal in the list, and right-click it (assuming Word
2002 or 2003), and choose Modify. In the Modify dialog, choose Format -
Font, set the desired typeface and size, then OK your way back to the
document.

If you want to change this behavior for ALL future documents based on the
current underlying template, then you'd do what I suggested in my other
reply.

Word uses the Line Number character style for its automatic line numbering,
but if you are using the Pleading Wizard, you will need to View | Header and
Footer and select the line numbering to see what font is used. From my
investigation, it appears to be Normal, so if you've modified the Normal
font to use in the rest of the pleading, the line numbers should follow.

Hi, Suzy. If Herb's suggestions don't work for you, then try modifying the
Line Number style by clicking on Format | Styles and Formatting | Show:
Custom | check the "Line Number" box | OK | <select the Line Number style> |
Modify | Format | Font | <choose the font options you want> | OK | check the
"Add to template" box | OK. If you are prompted to save changes to
normal.dot when you close Word, say yes.
