How do I change the information in my v-card attached to my email

How do I update the contact information in my that is attached as a v-card to
my outgoing e-mail. I can update the contact information in my contacts, but
nothing happens to the v-card. If I delete the v-card and try to attach a
new one the program re-attaches the outdated v-card.
