When my email account was set up the wrong name was entered, I want to change
the name of the person sending the e-mail so that when people receive an

Change your display name in your e-mail account properties. You haven't
provided your version of Outlook, so it's hard to tell you much else - and
I'm presuming you're talking about Internet Mail, not Exchange....

Kyle,

First, you should always post your OL version so folks out here can respond
more accurately.

Anyway, try Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change>Select account you want to
edit>Change>Go to User Info and change the name or e-mail address as
desired.

address as desired.

First, there are two "View or change" radio buttons on the Tools>E-mail
Accounts page, so telling the OP to select "View or change" is not helpful.
Since the default button "View or change existing e-mail accounts" is the
correct selection, it's more proper to suggest "Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next".

Second, there is no "User Info" tab or anything else labeled "User Info" to
select after "Change", so why suggest it? The correct suggestion would be
the "E-mail Address" field.

So, to the OP: Click Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next. Select your account and
click Change. Enter what you want your recipients to see in the "E-mail
Address" field. Click Next, then Finish.
