How do I configure Outlook 2003 to store "Sent Items" on my IMAP .

M

Miles

Outlook automatically copies all my outgoing messages to a local Sent Items
folder. Instead, I want Outlook to copy my outgoing messages to a folder on
my IMAP server. I have looked through the configuration dialoges, help file,
and online FAQ. I don't see a way to do this. Is there anything I can do to
make this happen?

First, if you have the option to save Sent messages to the Sent Items
folder, disable it. Then, click the RUles and Alerts button on the tool bar
and choose New Rule. Click the "Start from a blank rule" radio button,
select "Check messages after sending" and click Next. Click Next again to
make the rule apply to all messages (if you want all messages copied to the
IMAP folder; otherwise select a condition) and click Next. If you get the
"This rule will be applied to every message..." dialogue box, click Yes.
Check the "move a copy to the specified folder" box. In the lower pane,
click the word "specified", expand your IMAP data store, and select the Sent
Items folder in that store (or create it with the New button if it doesnt'
exist) and click OK. Click Next, then Next again (if there are no
exceptions you wish to specify), give the rule a name and click Finish.
