How do I convert a .avi to .wmp?

I have a Canon Powershot A70 digital camera. The video clips are saved as
..avi files. Powerpoint cannot import that file type. How do I convert it to
a .wmp file?

First try to just rename the file, giving it a file extension of MPG. Many
digital cameras generate AVI files that are non-standard and will play well as
MPG's.
