How do I convert eml extensions for use in forum

I have big problem with things I want to share in a forum I belong to.
Often what comes to my email is eml or like today, a picture with bmp
extension, I can't use these on the forum and for the life of me cannot
figure out how to change them! I could really use some easy to understand
instructions! thanks so much!

Well...

Don't.

Binary attachments of any type are not appropriate or welcome on this
text-base newsgroup.

Other newsgroups have other restrictions, but it's pretty standard to
allow binaries to be posted ONLY in specific binary newsgroups.
