How do I convert OS 9 macros?

R

Richard Stott

I was using Excel on my Mac in OS 9. I have since gone to OS X.2. When I
try to run my macro it says that the macro is too big. What do I have to
do to get my macro to run? If I have to chop it up I don't know how to.
Can anyone help me convert it to run on OS X.2? Any help appreciated.

VBA and any code size limitations didn't change between XL01 and
XLv.X, so I'm not sure what's going on. Going to OSX, if anything,
should eliminate memory problems, not cause them.

Couple of things to check:

1) Make sure you've got update 10.1.2 installed. If not, download it
from MacTopia:

http://www.microsoft.com/mac

and run it. Download and run 10.1.3 only if you're using one of the
languages specified.

2) If your macro may have been developed under XL5, download and run
the VBA Converter update at the same location.

If the above don't help, you may find it worth your while to post in
the

microsoft.public.mac.office.excel

newsgroup, where there are more Mac-savvy users that can help. Make
sure you post your XL versions, not just the OS.
