You cannot. Go to Google and enter Fonts in the search field. Search out your Font and download it. Then install in to your system

Actually, it can be done - I've done it. I don't remember what I did but I
remember it was a pain in the patoot. Much easier to download it again.

Copy the font to a floppy, install it in your new font folder.

(Working from old memory of Win98) Somewhere in the Windows folder on
the Win 98 box there is either a font folder, or mixed in with the
files on one of the subfolder, is a bunch of files with a .ttf
extension. Those are the fonts. Copy whichever ones you want. One
the XP box, place the copies in the C:\Windows\Fonts folder. I'd
strongly suggest that you do not overwrite any fonts already in that
folder. When you are done you may need to reboot (but I don't think
so) in order for the copied fonts to be active. Probably a better
idea would be to copy them to another folder and then right-click on
each font that you want installed and select Install.

Disclaimer: I'm doing this from memory. Right now I'm on neither a Win
98 or a XP box.

It's not easy from the Start Menu if Windows is set up to show Control
Panel as a menu under the Start Menu, so it's expedient to begin by
opening My Computer, then open Control Panel, then open Fonts. Select
all the desired fonts and issue the MENU BAR command Edit > Copy. Now
open the floppy drive and issue the MENU BAR command Edit > Paste.

As for installing them on the other computer, put the floppy in that
machine's floppy drive, open Fonts starting from My Computer (as
above),
and issue the MENU BAR command File > Install New Font... Select the
floppy drive in that dialog, then select the font files, then make sure
the 'Copy fonts to Fonts folder' checkbox is checked, and click OK.

From 98? No. I have done it from W2K to 2K3. But from 98 you are not able to. The Font file structure is a bit different in a Fat32 based to be able to insert into a NTFS based XP

Not true. You may not be able to do it from Control Panel, but all
font files are stored in C:\Windows\Fonts as files, so all it takes
is copying the desired font files (.FON and .FOT for screen/printer
device fonts, .TTF for TrueType) to a floppy, then installing them
on the other machine. This worked in Windows 95 and ME, so I'll
admit I'm just inferring that it'd also work in Windows 98.

That said, if there are any difference in the procedure between
Windows 95/98/ME vs Windows NT/2K/XP it'd be in Control Panel
rather than the file system. The NT-based versions of Windows can
function on FAT32 file systems with no differences in font handling
compared to the same versions running from NTFS file systems. The
file system has nothing to do with fonts.

Not so. Difference of opinion

Not a difference of opinion. It either can be done or it can't. One of
us is right and the other wrong. Who's right and who's full of it can
be verified by anyone with Windows 95/98/ME.
