I have my just purchased a new pc and am trying to move my calendar,
contacts, and pst files to the new pc. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Your Calendar and Contacts are in your PST file. Just transfer that and
either import via File | Import and Export or open it and copy items over.
Note that the PST file might be hidden.

BILLR,
Have tried that and keep getting an access denied message. Just to be clear
I have tried copying the pst files (by burning them on a CD and loading onto
new machine) as well as exporting to both existing desktop and to cd. Neither
method seems to work. Any ideas?

Outlook likes to have 'write" access to the files it opens. Most files on a
CD are ReadOnly
You will need to copy the file from CD to hard-disk and remove the
"read-only" attribute from the file.
I think you'll find that you can't copy the "folders" as they already exist
in your new "outlook", but you should be able to copy the "contents" of the
folders
CTRL+A will select everything then copy and paste

tried that. copied file to desktop then went to outlook file open and got
message that the file is not a personal folders file. BTW the was not
readonly. Not sure if that is itself an indication i am doing something wrong
or not.

What version of Outlook are you copying from and to what version are you
copying to?

It should work ok but not necessarily in reverse. Id' try running a detect
and repair on that PST and ensure it is not set to read-only.
