how do i copy pdf files to word or excel ?

I would like to copy some pdf files to either word or excel and don't know
how or if it can be done

It can be done but you need the full version of Acrobat that you need to
buy, the free reader wont do it as far as I know,

As long as your formatting isn't important to you, there is a text tool in
the tool bar of Acrobat Reader version 5 and up that allows you to select
text and paste to word or excel.
