how do i copy to a cd-rw without it becoming read only

i would like to be able to copy to a cd-rw and then take it away and be abke
to change the details on it and save it rather than it just becoming read only

This is working for me. I can open the .mdb directly from the CD-RW on
another computer and save changes.

Are you sure you're using an CD-RW and not a CR-R?
What software are you using to copy the .mbd?

I assume you know that the CR-RW has to be either formatted in a way as to
be readable on other PC's. You can also use "Drag-to-Disk" with Roxio or
similar software. It's also possible that the destination drive is just not
compatiable with the drive that wrote the disk (usually not a problem with
newer drives).

Have you been able to write other types of files to a CD-RW and read and
modify the files on the destination computer?

This is not a problem with Access. Instead this is likely a hardware
problem, or a CD-writing software problem.
