I have searched the internet, & found:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;884538&FR=1&PA=1&SD=HSCH
start > search > all files & folders
1. search for msvcrt.dll
You may have more than one instance of this file.
Look for an entry in C:\windows\system32
right click on msvcrt.dll , associated with that location. Left click
"properties". Left click "version". What is the version?
Do the same for msvcirt.dll .
2. Possibly a "plug - in" problem. A plug - in is an accessory / auxillary
/ sub - program used by a program.

Open Outlook.
Left click "tools".
Left click "options". [ You may need to click on the double down pointing
arrow. ]
Left click the tab labeled "other".
Left click the "advanced options" button.
Left click the "com add - ins" button.
What, if anything, is listed?
Left click "cancel", until you are at the Outlook inbox.
3. Plaxo Is it installed on your computer?
http://www.plaxo.com/products
start > search > all files & folders
1. search for: plaxo
4. Norton AntiVirus or Norton Internet Security
I know you have Norton AV. I do not think you have Norton IS.
start > all programs
Do you have "norton internet security"?
5. Try this
start > search > all files & folders
1. search for: msouplug.dll
If found, where is it located? [ such as C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Symantec Shared\Antispam\MSOUPLUG.DLL ]
6. Here's a possible solution.

From: Janne on 12/14/2003
My solution on the error message:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: ...\OUTLOOK.EXE
abnormal program termination
was to uninstall Office 2000 (from the CD) AND then run the eraser2k:
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...port/kb/articles/q239/9/38.asp&NoWebContent=1
- thereby removing the remaining Office files in the regristry. Afterwards I
reinstalled Office. On opening Outlook I had the choice to reinstall the
former Outlook data and I did - and voila! Outlook is back to normal!
Hope it works for you guys!
7. creating a new profile
