how do I creat a user profile page for frontpage

I am looking to creat a users profile page to add to a website but can not
find a tremplate, can anyone tell me how i am able to do this.

maybe like a membership sign up/log on type thing?
like you see with thousands of sites around - like Google, if you post to these
newsgroups you need to be a "member" of google's newgroup services.
