How do I create a non-hyphenated soft break in a sentence in Word

S

Siahab

The phrase "technical/social" may appear at the end of a line, for instance.
Word treats it a one word and moves it all to the next line, leaving an ugly
space. I want to place the cursor after the slash ("/") and enter a command
that will allow the remaining part of the phrase to go to the next line
without a hyphen, yet stay together when not at the end of the line. For
example:

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, technical/
social, blah, blah, technical/social. Blah, blah, blah,
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

WordPerfect has been able to do this for 20 years!
