How do I create a task of 5 days effort but a 30 duration

I have a task of "Obtain Hardware". This process normally takes about 30
days but there is only 5 days of effort, the rest is waiting for replys,
submitting order, etc. How can I enter 5 days in duration and have a Start
Date of today (eg Dec 01)and an End Date in 30 days (Dec 30)

Let's put the vocabulary straight first.
For Project, you want a task of 30 days duration and 5 days of work.

Enter any duration (or leave the default 1 day)
Insert Column, Work
Enter 5 days
Now adssin the resource (f.i. through the resourc assignment wondow).

By th way, as I am a non-believer in anything, mosgt of all progress in a
project, I split this in slmaller measurable 1 or 2 day tasks with lags
between them. Gives me a possibility to check progress.
