How do I create a worksheet within a worksheet in Excel?

I have my worksheet laid out with a copious amount of info. Now, what I need
to do is create another sheet (coversheet?) within the worksheet which will
include a summary of the rest of the info within my big sheet.

You cannot create a worksheet within a worksheet.

Just insert a new worksheet in the workbook and use that for your summary.

Filter on your big sheet and copy the results to the new worksheet.
