Create an autoshape and place it over the area you want to be the "hotspot."
Right-click, choose Action Settings and then in the Hyperlink area, specify
which slide to move to.
Then, back on the autoshape, change it to no line/no fill. Or, if you're
going to show this using the PPT 2003 Viewer, give it a fill, but set it to
99% transparency. The 2003 Viewer doesn't maintain the links on completely
transparent objects, but setting to 99% transparency will fool both it and
your eyes.
