how do i create space for rules in outlook

Hello,

I am trying to create a new rule in outlook and continue to get the
following error message:
"One or more rules could not be uploaded to Exchange Server and have been
deactivated. This could be because some of the parameters are not supported
or there is insufficient space to store all of your rules."
I currently only have 8 rules running at the moment. All of my rules have
attributes that move certain mail items to different folders.

Please help!

Rules space on Exchange is fixed and cannot be changed. Perhaps your rules
are more complex than they need to be. I wish I had better news.

IF you truly are out of space, you can't get more space. You are only
allowed 32kb for rules. Without knowing what your rules are doing, it could
be possible that you've hit it, although there seems to be some consensus
that you should be able to get at least 20 rules set up, depending on your
version of Outlook.
Do any of your rules forward mail to people? If yes, and there's a lot, set
up a distribution list rather than putting individual names in.

All of my rules move incoming mail (depending on who it's from) to other
folders in my inbox. For example, one of my rules is to move mail from
"Richard Harris" to the sub-folder named "Richard Harris" in the inbox.
Basically, i've created "filters" so that messages from certain people go
directly to their corresponding sub-folders in the inbox. I am currently
running Outlook 2003.
