how do I delay flash in powerpoint

D

Using PPT 2003.

When I insert a flash file into Powerpoint, it plays right away. Is there a
way to delay it. I've tried putting a coloured box on top, but the flash
video shows up, regardless. Custom animations doesn't seem to have any
effect on this type of file either. Perhaps in the properties there's
something there, but I don't understand all of the items in the properties
toolbar that show up.

Thanks for any help. Diana

Hey Dina; im afraid there's nothing you can do on powerpoint to have it
delayed. However, you could use custom animations to make it appear
late, so that it starts as soon as it appears. If that doesn't seem to
work, you could always make it delayed through the program which you
created the flash object.

Yes.you can use custom animation in properties to define the sequence
of its appearance.

custom animations are greyed out when I try to use that feature to delay the
flash file. (I delay other animations using what you describe). For this
flash file, it plays right away - as soon as the slide it's on shows up ...
and it plays in front of anything I put on top of it. It's rather
dominating.
