Since upgrading to MS Office 2008 my Entourage contacts have multiplied like crazy! Each contact has a minimum of three duplicates, with a few settingthe record at 11 duplicates! Is there a way to merge and/or delete this duplicate contacts in Entourage? I tried the suggestion to export the list, import to Address Book and use AB's merge/delete duplicate feature, but here isthe weird thing: only a fraction of my Entourage contacts (not the duplicates, the actual entries) get transferred over to Address Book. I have tried everything unsuccessfully so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and have a great weekend,

HI EVERYONE -
I was having this problem, too - after upgrading to MS Office 2008, my
Contact entries began duplicating. Every time Entourage synced with
Address Book, it would duplicate the entries. It's maddening.
But, I may have stumbled upon a solution.
I think that the problem has something to do with the Sync Services
Preferences settings. When you select to sync Contacts with Address
Book, the Syncronization Options dialogue box appears and asks, "How
do you want to synchronize the information that you selected?" - my
setting was "Delete Entourage Information". After changing that
setting to "Combine Information" that duplication problem seems to
have gone away.
Here's the step by step.
1) In Entourage, click on the Entourage menu, and then click on
Preferences
2) Click on "Sync Services"
3) Uncheck the box next to "Synchronize contacts with Address Book
and .Mac"
4) Click "OK"
5) Click on the Entourage menu again, then on Preferences again.
6) Under "Sync Services" recheck the box to "Synchronize contacts
with Address Book and .Mac"
7) Click "OK"
Likely, this won't delete the duplicates that have already been
generated, but it will also, hopefully, solve you problem. It solved
mine.
