How do I delete headers which have not been downloaded, without deleting from the server

Hi There,

This seems like a trivial task, but I couldn't find an answer to this
anywhere.

I downloaded headers from a gmail account using outlook, and since this is
the first time, I ended up getting 100s of them. I want to get rid of about
90% of the headers, and just download the remaining 10%. The headers are
currently clogging my inbox, which is also used for communicating with
exchange.

Can anyone tell me how to do that?

Itai,

The only way to do this is to keep a copy of messages on the server--which
would then clog the server...

One thing I do is I create a new folder in the in box (called "Read Later")
and drag and drop the messages I don't want clogging the in-box to the new
folder.

well, unfortunately you cannot drag headers to a different folder. That's
the natural thing I tried to do.

Also, I have my account set up to "leave messages on server", so that's not
a problem. When I delete something, it's not really being deleted, it's just
getting "strikethrough".

Other ideas?
