How do I delete invisible contacts from Outlook

Using phonelist view, my Contacts folder appears completely empty, but the
lower lefthand corner of the screen shows over 65,000 items in it and the
size of the .pst folder is 115M! It won't import my new address list because
"file is full".
How do I empty out the invisible items? (And I can't imagine what they are:
I've had this program less than a year and I never have more than 200
contacts in it.

Have you checked to be sure that there's no filter on the Contacts folder?
