How do I delete Outlook 2003 outbox message?

I have a message stuck in my outbox. The attachment is 12 MB. When I try to
open or delete the message from the outbox I get a response that I can not
because Outlook has already started transmitting the message.

File->Work Offline. Close Outlook completely (check task manager). Reopen
and delete the message. Click FIle->Work Online.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
