How do I display folders?

I have lost the view of my tasks. The tasks icon is still visible in the
Folder List view, but clicking on it results in the message "Unable to
display folder" and a blank screen. The tasks are still there (they still
appear in the "Outlook today" view for example. How do I restore the view?
