How do I do this in the new crap version of excel

S

Stapes

I am trying to carry out the following instructions (taken from
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306023#12):

Create a new folder named C:\ExcelData. The sample program will store
Excel workbooks in this folder.
Create a new workbook for the sample to write to:
Start a new workbook in Excel.
On Sheet1 of the new workbook, type FirstName in cell A1 and LastName
in cell B1.
Select A1:B1.
On the Insert menu, point to Name, and then click Define. Type the
name MyTable and then click OK.

Problem is, on the Insert menu, there is no Name option. How am I
supposed to do this now.

Hi,

You can use the same shortcut key as in 2003 -

Ctrl+F3, then click New...

In 2003 that key took you directly to the Insert, Name, Define dialog box,
in 2007 it takes you to the Name Manager which is the same place, just highly
redesigned.

New in 2007 you can right click the range and choose the command Name a Range.
