How do I download address book on an IMAP server?

I've setup an IMAP account using MS Outlook. When I want to send an email to
an account on this server, I'm not able to see any contacts. How can I
download the address book from my IMAP server or Can I verify contacts email
addresses when I use IMAP server account?

Thanks Sue. It's clear to me now that this is the only way I can access
address book on my IMAP server.
