I have the disc for Office 2003 with the licence number but I don't have a CD
drive on my new netbook. How do I go about downloading this?

Thanks

Maybe you should have thought about this prior to buying?
By buying an external cd drive or via a network connection, or copying the
cd to a memory stick

probably easier to copy via memory stick just thought there might be
somewhere on the Microsoft website where I could download the programme if I
entered in the licence number.

The netbook is just for travelling and answering emails, didn't really need
all the spec but it would be handy to have Word on there to view attachments
etc.

Then just download the Word Viewer from Microsoft's site. All it will do is
let you look, not edit.

I would suggest you get an external CD/DVD RW drive - they are pretty cheap
now-a-days and presumably your netbook came with a restore DVD - so you will
need one at some stage anyway when you need to re-image the HDD...
