How do I edit items on a slide that are stacked for animation?

I have a slide with about 5 images/textboxes that will appear one atop the
other with animation. However, after building this slide, I've decided I
want to change something in one of the textboxes. How do I do it without
moving all of the items on the slide until I see the textbox that I want?

2 methods

1) Repeatedly use the Tab key and watch the animations pane for when the
correct shape's animation is highlighted

2) Use the little known and almost hidden multiple select tool from
PowerPoint's custom toolbar menus.
View => Toolbars =>Customize => (tab) Commands => Drawing => Select Multiple
Objects and drag to an active toolbar.
