How do I edit someone elses ppt 2003 file with embedded fonts?

ppt 2003, windows XP u/d 2, prevents editing other people's files that have
embedded fonts; how do I overcome this restriction?

Hi,

You need to open them in an earlier version and remove the offending font.
It is a "feature" I detest. This will explain your options:

PowerPoint opens presentations as Read-Only, won't allow editing when fonts

Glen, thanks for the help; a long and tedious process!
I also had sucess by opening File / Properties / Content and viewing the
fonts used; then after adding all of the missing fonts to my computer I was
able to edit the file.
A most undesirable feature; - we need a default font option.
