How do I email photos in a powerpoint presentation?

I want to email my powerpoint presentation with photos to a friend. How do I
make the file smaller? I've tried saving it as a pps, but the file is still
large. What am I missing?

Brief version: Make sure Fast Saves are off and resave under a new name.
Make sure the photos are the size they need to be for displaying
presentations. If they aren't, compress them - either from within PPT or
from a photo editor. Instructions are in the article
