how do i enable java on internet explorer?

can anyone tell me how to enable java on internet explorer. alot of
applications don't work because of this and i can't work out how to do it.
the help file doesn't help. it all started with service pack 2!!! please get
back to me. thanks

MS JVM - get if from one of the millions of AOL CDs out
