How do I enable my computer to access hyperlinks by clicking?

For some reason I cannot click a hyperlink to access a webpage or file?
Instead I have to right-click the link and select "open".

If you have this problem in Word 2003, then click on Tools |
Options | Edit | uncheck the "Use CTRL + Click to follow
hyperlink" box | OK.
