How do I enter a horizontal line in Word 2003?

L

Leon Willard

In Word 2002, I can enter three dashes, underscores, or equal signs and get
horizontal lines across the page. This doesn't work in Word 2003, as part of
my new installation of Office 2003. Has this function been eliminated? Or
have I somehow disabled it?

Thanks.

That still works in Word 2003 if you click on Tools | AutoCorrect
Options | AutoFormat As You Type | check the "Borders lines" box | OK.

The function is still available, as covered in garfield-n-odie's
reply. But you can create a paragraph border explicitly (rather than
to have Word do it for you) by selecting Format>Borders and Shading.
You can even include this formatting in a style definition, for easy
application.
