When I open my current web sight my page does not look like the example in
the book step by step. I have no files listed in the folder list. I can't
open a page from my web sight. My screen is split in have one side has remote
web sight the other has local web sight. Any help?

In the folders tab it only lists private and images when I click on those it
says no files exist.

And...what do you see in the root folder?

Images files will only be in the image folder if you Import them into it or
drag/drop them in there. Don't worry about the _private folder for now.

If you can see the _private and images folders, then the website is
open. You do not have any files in it, or you have not opened the
site that contains your files.
