drt,
This is something we have had in place for several years.
Set up two tables, vehicle and maint
vehicle table
vehno
vehmake
vehmodel
vehserial
vehcost
etc
maint table
vehno
maint_date
maint_part
maint_part_no
maint_part_cost
etc
the relationship between the two tables is the vehno. We have always used
the vehicle year and the order the vehicles were purchased, example: 200401 =
first vehicle bought in 2004, 199710 = 10th vehicle bought in 1997.
Then you can set up queries to track vehicle cost by month date etc.
For what it is worth we also have a fuel table to track fuel use by vehicle.
