how do I export a distribution list

how do I save the contacts and a distribution list in those contacts, to a
floppy or disc in case I get a virus?

Whatever you do, no not export them. You will lose your DL's
Just copy your Outlook Data File:
The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the
mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.
