How do I export Contacts to Excel

I know how to export my entire Contacts to Excel. How do I export a subset
of my Contacts to Excel. Instead of 1000 entries in a spreadsheet which
requires me to o into the spreadsheet and delete 980 entries, how can I pick
just 20 Contacts and export only that to Excel?

Copy those items to a separate folder and export from there.
