HOW DO I FIND ENVELOPES

R

Rob Giordano \(Crash\)

Did you look in your lower left desk drawer? That's where I keep mine.

What are you asking?

Mine are in the box on top of the paper bin on top of my computer desk
hutch. But since I don't have many, please don't take any.

Hardly! Just because I know where the envelopes and stamps are doesn't mean
I could find my butt with a flashlight and a mirror. I just happen to have
most of my paper supplies in one location and the stamps have been there for
a while - before I started using online banking. Most are 1¢ stamps.

Damn, that was a long time ago when you started on-line banking, 1 cent
stamps! I started on-line banking when it was 29 cents to mail a letter.
Didn't think you were that old.

I used to be a newsletter editor and would have a stash of stamps. Whenever
they raised the amount, I had to buy 1¢ stamps to make up the difference. I
can't seem to get rid of those couple of leftover stamps. :)

I think the smallest postage I can remember is about 5¢ but I didn't start
the online stuff until about 2002 (?).

I remember when postage went from 4 to 5 cents...long time ago, I
think Ben Franklin was still alive then.

I recall 3 cent stamps, penny postcards and mail deliveries twice a day
Monday through Friday and once on Saturday. That stopped during the
Truman administration I think? Maybe Eisenhower? Very late '40s or
early '50s.

Could it be that I'm old? Nah, can't be.

R

Rob Giordano \(Crash\)

Probably Eisenhower, since I do remember mail twice a day.

Up until about 5 years ago I used to get mail at my office twice a day. Then
they did away with that and began delivering at 4-5 pm which was ridiculous
'cause it was tantamount to not getting mail on Fridays.
