how do i find my data base

I am unable to open my data base of 7000 customers in access. however
although i cant open it i can export it to excel and open it there. how can i
then get it back into a access data base format. i can get it as a linked
data base .

Have you tried compacting and repairing it?

Do you get an error message?

If all else fails, you might try to make a new blank database and import all
the objects.

I'd make a backup copy before I try anything though.

Rick when i open access my data base shows in the drop down but when i click
on it nothing happens. i then clicked on export thinking nothing would happen
but when exported to excel the whole data base is there. I can then copy it
back to a access data base format but it is linked with excel so i cant add
to it.
this is driving me crazy but it is not a real problem as i have my data also
on my laptop up to a couple of weeks ago so can copy that file back to my PC
its just the fact that it has disapeared (whilst someone else was using my
pc) and i know it is there i just cant open it.

If you can EXPORT, then your database is opeened.

Hae you tried pressing F11 to unhide the database window?

sorry i didnt export it i went to analyze with excel and there it was but as
i said i cant then just save it as an access data base it is a linked data
base.
