how do I find out how to delete a macro from a document

I have a dot (document template) that has created a file for
me and I have save the resulting document as a ".doc" not a ".dot"
Now everytime I try and open up the doc it asks me if I want to enable
macros or disable macros.. is there anyway to delete the link from
the dot to doc that it created?
