how do I find out my Product Key?

Dominic Gould

I have lost the cd case with my product key on it and
want to install Microsoft Office on my laptop using the
original cd. Is there any way I can find out what the
Product Key that I used before was? Please help!

I have a similar problem. I just bought a new computer. It didn't come with Office. The Microsoft.com support screens advise opening any office program, clicking on the help menu and choosing "About". The product code is listed there. That of course assumes you are still able to open Word or Excel or whatever. I still have my old computer, so I was able to find the code. For some reason, microsoft.com support will not accept the number as valid. Can anyone help with this? Hopefully I've helped the other two posters.

The number displayed from within an Office Program when you click on
"Help|About" is NOT your CD key used to install Office.

AIDA32 will display both your Windows and Office CD keys.
