I don't know all the circumstances surrounding your needs, however, the you
can determine the installation root of your Office applications in the
registry (provided those entries still exist, of course). For example, my
Access 2003 installation shows the installation root directory under the
following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Access\InstallRoot
Version 11.0 is for Office 2003, 10.0 for Office XP, etc. Each Office
application appears to have its own installation root setting. All the
usual warnings about accessing the registry apply here. Do not attempt to
do this unless you are comfortable working within the registry.
