How do I fix a corrupt calendar file in Outlook 2003

P

phil

I cannot add new appointments to my calendar in Outlook.

I tried backing up the calendar and deleting the current one but could not
because it is a required folder.

The knowledge base provides an approach for earlier versions of Outlook
which involves starting Outlook from the command line (exchng32), deleting
the calendar file, creating a new file by restatring Outlook once more from
the command line (Outlook/resetfolders) and then copying appointments over
from the backup. However, this does not apply to the current version.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

Phil

I have found the FFolder utility very useful in the past. The file and
instructions are located at
http://emedia.leeward.hawaii.edu/itg/web/webdocs/windows/outlook_bad_records/default.htm

You might have to install "CDO objects" to get it to work. You can install
this by going to add/remove, office, click "change/remove", then change, then
look for where you can install additional components. I think it's under
office tools, then outlook. Just fish around in there and you'll eventually
find where to install it. Hope this helps.
