How do I fix a "save as" problem w/o program freezing?

When I recieve attachments on email (word doc), open them with Word, click
the icon button (getting the list to save or save as...), and choose "save
as", the program freezes. I then have to end task. I have ran a virus scan
(Norten's) and have also ran a "spyware" program to locate and clean up
spyware....which I did have 42 critical incidents. I am not certain if the
problem is with the program or with my email provider.

I've noticed this happening too. I "think" its because the em attachment is
already saved in the temp file OLK folder. I have kept it from happening by
not opening the attachment but rather saving it from the em icon to the hd
first, then open it with Word (or whatever)

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.
