Hi

I hope someone can help me, as this is driving me crazy

I want add a table in landscape format on page 3. This is simple. But The hard part is making it stay on page 3, when I'm typing on page 2, and I get to the end of the page, word simply pushes the table down to page 4

So my question is: How do I fix a table on page 3, so that when typing text it skips page 3 and continues onto page 4

PLEASE Help

From your description, perhaps page 3 was defined by lots
of carriage returns. If page 2 is seperated from page 3
by a page break it might be what you need. Press CTL-
Enter to insert a page break.

Word does not have text-flow capabilty, which is what would be required to
achieve this.

Thanks Doug

I came to that same conclusion after trying just about everything. Maybe it could be an inclusion in the next version. Would be nice of us writing a PhD thesis

Fixing a table on page 3 and letting text flow around it is a feature of
desktop publishing, not word processing, and is something Word isn't
designed to do, so don't look for it anytime soon, I should think.

For a Ph.D. thesis, isn't the table related to the text before and after it,
in which case you would *want* it to move with its associated text, no? I'm
picturing a horrible scenario where you edit the beginning substantially and
discover your table is presented 5 pages before you explain it. If you want
to be able to refer to Table 2 on page 3, use cross-references to generate
the numbers, then Word will update them for you when/if they change.
