how do i fix my picture feature so that i may view my pics

Some how I am not able to view drawings or graphics (i.e., charts) in my Word
documents. Also, all the graphics, dates, and hyperlinks come in as field
codes instead of their perspective view. How can I fix all of this? Any help
will be greatly appreciated.

Use Alt+F9 to toggle between results and field codes
and check the default setting in Tools=>Option=>View
